Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I have my trash out?
Please have your trash out no later than 7am on the day of your collection. Many communities have regulations about how early you can put your trash out the night before. Please check with your HOA or property management if this applies to your
community. There will only be one trip through your neighborhood, and if you missed us, we will have to charge you to come back out.
How can I keep animals out of my trash?
Keep your trash in sealed cans with tightly fitting lids. The use of bungee cords to hold the lids on, placing a brick on the lid of the can, etc. can also deter critters from rummaging through your trash. A drop or two of ammonia on your bags will also help keep animals from tearing your trash apart.
Who do I call for pickup of bulky items?
Give us a call to schedule a pickup of your large items from your curb. Such items include but are not limited to: sofas, mattresses, large furniture items, carpet, porcelain kitchen or bath fixtures.
How do I dispose of appliances or other metal items?
Call our office to schedule a pickup of your metal items. AA Refuse, Inc. takes all metal items for recycling.
How can I protect my trashcan from being damaged?
Ensure that your cans are placed on the curb, not placed in the street when you put them out for pickup. Our drivers replace cans to the curb. Also, securing the lid to the can handle with rope or zip ties will ensure that your lid does not get blown away on windy days.
How do I report a missed collection?
Just call our office and report the missed collection. Keep in mind that you have to have your trash and other items out by 7am.
What if I put my trash out late?
In keeping with trying to be as environmentally conscious as possible, we ask that you get your trash out on time. Please call our office to let us know if you have missed the collection. We may have to send a vehicle out to pick your trash up if our truck is not still in your area. This will result in a $5 charge added to your next bill.
